"Prosmosis" Concept

As mentioned in my previous post, I have recently been focusing on work that revolves around amputation/prothesis. I've been focusing on these topics because of my fascination and respect of medical advancements needed in order to bring an individual an artificial limb. I also understand that the loss of one's own limb and the transition to an artificial one is not easy and comes with a set of unique problems, which brought up my desire to design an alternative yet effective type of prosthetic, even if only fictional. So after some inner discussion, I came up with the idea of designing prosthetics made of liquid, mostly made from water. "Certainly, this has to be impossible," I thought to myself, but I enjoyed the idea and move forward. With this project, I have hope to accomplish successful branding by creating a fictional advertising campaign, including an un-hosted/unpublished website, a simple and modern commercial, and promotional flyers/posters.

The first task on my list was to create a name and logo for the company creating these fictional prosthetics. I tried many names that combined the words "liquid" and "prosthesis" until I came to the name Prosmosis.

Next, was creating the logo; I wanted something simple and modern yet still fluid and clean.

After creating these, I knew I wanted to simplify it even more by creating a singular simple that could be associated with the corporation.

This was the look I was going for. I played around with the colors and with different fonts until I decided on using the first one in the last row. Afterwards, I moved forward with the website design.

This is very preliminary but I was trying to begin the drafting process of this website. As of this update, the design is a bit further along but will hold off from showing that stage of the design until I more convinced that it is the style I want to use.

I like to multitask (as you can see) during my projects which is why everything is in initial stages so that ideas in all sectors can keep developing as I keep toying with the idea and designs. So moving along, I decided to also tackle the VFX that would be involved in creating a believable design for a liquid prosthetic, for the purpose of promotional material.

The four images above show different processes that I was attempting to get closer to the look I am trying to achieve, which is a solid limb, yet liquid in texture.

For this last image, I attempting a small demo of the way the liquid limbs should look and move. A short video will be up soon.

More updates in the next few days! The whole project is due by next Thursday so I will have the finished product by next Friday.
